CHAPTER 2: BIRDS BY THE GARDEN
In this course, we will be taking inspiration from nature through colours and layout. We love the way nature flows in its most organic form, hence the inspiration for this creation. We selected a pair of birds as the main characters for this theme, Birds by the Garden, to relay an ambience of romance and serenity.
When it comes to colour palette, background plays a critical role in showcasing the setting that the artist wishes to deliver. We have chosen a muted colour, Turkish Blue to be specific, to create a rustic feel to the artwork.
You will learn how you can transfer your visuals on cake through buttercream painting. It does take a lot of practice in this segment. We hope this course will broaden your perspective in applying creative visuals onto cakes!

CHAPTER 3: EMBROIDERED PEONY BOX
Our peony box was our first cultural inspired creation from our Peranakan-inspired series back in 2016. The idea sparked when we visited the Peranakan Museum in Singapore located at Armenian Street. We were in awe of the delicate craftsmanship of the beaded and embroidered works.
In this course, we will walk you through our second edition with a different technique and colour scheme from our first yellow and teal peony box. Our course instructor will be demonstrating to you how the design process works while working with a new template for the first time. To reduce mistakes, she will share with you some unique ways to apply the template on your cake cover effectively and also, ways to troubleshoot your design template on the spot.
Discover and explore how you too, can create patterns from scratch and integrate cultural related motifs to bring your cake works to a whole new level.

CUPPLETS started in 2013, and cake designing then was not something we were confident of exploring. With time, we began endeavoring our journey emulating works from other cake artists who inspired us. Simple things, like piping the perfect rosette. We would stare at videos over and over again to get it done right. That probably took us 2 weeks to master, and another year to perfectly frost a cake. As self-taught bakers and cake artists, our learning curve was not always on a steep line. Our creative works became more recognised after 3 years in the business. 7 years later, the CUPPLETS team has created over 4000 customised cakes & desserts for celebration and events, and is known for its painterly and culturally-inspired creations. We hope through this online academy, you will get to explore different ways to create cakes with buttercream and to discover your personality and style in your works.
